Q: Where can I locate the audio material for Genki?

A: The computers in the Self study room (Room 222 in the Arts Digital Resource Centre, Brennan MacCallum Bldg) are where you can locate audio materials for Genki 1 & 2.

Q: How do I listen to the material?

A: Pick up a yellow brochure “Self Study” from the corridor near the Library, which will give you instructions on how to access the material.

Basically, you will need to follow these steps:

1. Double-click on the Language Player icon on the desktop.

2. Click on the ‘Open folder’ icon (underneath Master Track).

3. Select the language folder “Japanese”, & media file “Genki”.

Select an audio file to play.

4. The file will play automatically when downloaded (takes up to a minute).

You may also be interested in the Genki Online website, where you can learn about the basic charts (Hiragana & Katakana), look at flash cards, take a listening quiz, play the “Concentration game” game with online hiragana/katakana cards, etc.
